Hi there,
I’m Bassel Ounah, Founder of Apnea Zone and a PADI Elite Freediving Instructor.
Each month, we teach 50+ people how to dive or improve their skills in a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment.
We’ve been recognized as a 5-Star PADI Dive Resort and have been awarded with a PADI certificate of Excellence for outstanding customer service in PADI instruction.
Our work has also been featured in the Undersea Journal USA, a popular publication in the freediving world.
But I didn’t start out thinking I would launch a diving school. I turned my passion into my profession and Apnea Zone was the next logical step in my journey.
People often ask me why I do what I do. My response is always the same.
I want to see more people recognize the ocean as a part of mother nature and recognize the value of being connected to it.
Our goal is to raise awareness about underwater activity and encourage more people to take up freediving as a hobby or competitive sport.
Our students love the emphasis we place on safety, our constant push to help them improve without overwhelm and the warm and friendly atmosphere that helps them thrive.

Ashraf Nahlous
First up is Ashraf Nahlous, our Multinational Operations Manager. Ashraf brings years of experience in sales, administration, and high-level roles across various industries to our resort.
He’s the man responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly, and with his exceptional organizational skills and keen eye for detail, he’s fantastic at his job.
Ashraf’s friendly and approachable personality makes him the go-to person for all our guests’ needs, and his passion for the underwater world is contagious.
Redaa Atef
Next, meet Redaa Atef, our Equipment Maintenance Specialist. Redaa is the guy who makes sure all our diving gear is in top-notch condition for your underwater adventures.
He’s got a wealth of knowledge and experience in maintaining various types of diving equipment, and he takes pride in providing the highest level of safety and comfort to our guests.
With his meticulous approach and friendly personality, Redaa is a reliable and trustworthy member of our team.
Safwan Kojak
Last but not least, we have Safwan Kojak, our Scuba Diving and Freediving Instructor. Safwan’s love for the ocean is deep, and he’s passionate about sharing his knowledge and expertise with others.
He’s calm, patient, and engaging, which makes him a favorite among both beginners and experienced divers.
Safwan’s commitment to the highest standards of training ensures that our guests enjoy the best possible underwater experiences at our diving resort.
